Thank you so helping me celebrate my half birthday!
In MATH this week, we have been working on solving word problems to 20. This was a hard concept because you include reading with math! We took the post test today (not graded yet but looking it over) and I see such improvement. Even better, the class can tell how much they've grown. Our next learning target will be about place value.
In PTR Small Groups, we have been working on spotting the vowels, reading real words, and reading fluently with good comprehension. I have also been assessing reading nonsense words (it shows me if they really know their vowel sounds and can blend them together.). We've been using Google Classroom (a learning experience for us all!) to write our spelling sentences. I am so impressed how willing everyone is to try new things and to be ok when things don't go as we planned!
Forms went home for Gusher Grams.
Everyone has been working so hard on Sight Word Olympics, Fry Phrases (those that have passed all sight words), and Math Fact fluency. I love how students are using their learning goal binders to work on things they know they want to improve on!
