This week in MATH, we have been learning how to solve word problems. We have a 6 step method that helps us identify the parts and the whole in a problem. We use a Part Part Whole Mat to help us solve them. I am so impressed with how well we are using this method and solving the problems!!!
In LARGE GROUP PTR, we focused on words with 2Vowels go walking. Our words next week will be: which, when, shop, rush, shut, wish, what, who. What can I get when I shop? Who can rush and shut the pen?
We worked in the Computer Lab with Ms. Bryant this week. We also had Mrs. Ryan in for her Counseling Lesson. So this has been a jam packed week. Next week we will take the second NWEA test in Math and ELA the following week.
We've had some toys and pokiemon cards come in backpacks. Then 'mysteriously' they get out of backpacks and then become distractions. Please lets keep toys and pokiemon (and other trading cards) cards at home.
We do celebrate birthdays in our class. If you want to send in a snack to share (from the approved snack list) that is great. I told our friends that have birthdays over the break that we would celebrate when we return in January.
Now that cold weather is here, it is important that everyone has a coat that they can fasten, hood/hat, and gloves/mittens. We do go outside unless the windchill or temperature is too low.
I will be gone on Friday. (so baggy books and sight words and math facts won't be handled on Friday) Mrs. Simpson will teach for me. I know my class is in good hands! Have a great weekend! Mrs. C.
