In MATH this week, we have been reviewing addition and subtraction strategies. We will move into using those strategies in word problems.
In Social Studies, we have been working on the learning target: I can explain and give examples of how laws and rules are made and changed within a community. This week we have learned about how our local government, state government, and federal government makes laws. We've learned what makes a good law and/or rules and why we need good laws and rules.
In Science, we have been learning about properties and how to describe objects by properties. We have also worked with Scientific Method. We've done a few observations too. Our learning target is: I can choose materials with the properties best suited for an intended purpose
In WRITING we have working on writing narratives, revising, editing for capital letters, punctuation, and spelling. We have been looking at words we capitalize. We also have been looking at changed verbs from present tense to past tense.

We did our first baseline math fluency assessment today. We will focus on improving each time. We are also working on sight words. We have some friends finished with blue ribbon words and working on bronze words.
