In Shared Reading and Social Studies, we've been working on the learning targets of I can identify the main idea and important details in nonfiction writing and I can explain the contributions of US historical figures. We've learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., George Washington, and this week, Abraham Lincoln. Students are getting good at figuring out what the main topic is and finding details. Now we are working on finding what is most important.
