In COMMUNICATION ARTS, we have also been pretty busy. In WRITING, we have been working on Opinion Writing. Part of that is deciding what we think about the topic and have 3 reasons to support this opinion. We also focus on capitalization, punctuation, and using our knowledge of vowels and sounds to spell. We are also working on neatness. In SHARED READING/SOCIAL STUDIES we have been learning about National Symbols. We have been finding the main topic and important details. Mrs. Cohee, our awesome librarian, is working on a research project with the first graders. In PTR this week, we did some assessments on vowel sounds, spelling words with guides, and a baseline for multiple syllable words. Next week we will begin learning about multiple syllable words so we won't have Spelling Words. We also worked with Ms. Bryant in the Computer Lab learning to work with adding text and illustrations.
Our Specials next week are: PE, Art, Music, PE, and Art. Library is Wednesday.
With the changeable weather, it is important that students have a coat every day.
Have a fantastic weekend!!! Mrs. C.
